JULIAN KIMBLE

After years of stubbornness, I’ve finally decided to stop hiding this thing. Look at me, no longer blocking my blessings.

I’m a senior copywriter who’s worked at both smaller and larger shops, gaining access to some of the most reputable publications,  brands, and media companies out there. (Here’s a comprehensive look at my editorial work, FYI.) It’s a nontraditional path, but I have little interest in tradition.

My perspective is shaped by experience and close observation, of course, but also time spent in the advertising and editorial worlds. I try to bring insight and a little attitude to my work, regardless of whether I’m writing a Criterion essay, working on accounts like Nike and Jordan Brand, or making a podcast for HBO. It’s all invaluable to the problem-solving process and that’s all creativity is: how you solve problems.

I’m also writing a book about the ‘96 NBA Draft class and its impact on pop culture for Simon & Schuster, which I guess is cool.
